Care
Care & Materials
Every Pencil & Oak piece is made from natural materials. A little care keeps it looking its best for years.
Leather
- Our leather is not artificially corrected, so natural marks such as healed scars, wrinkles, veins and shifts in tone are part of its character, not defects.
- Keep it out of direct sunlight. All leather softens in colour over time; this is natural and not a sign of poor quality.
- Nourish and treat your leather furniture piece every three to six months with a natural leather balm, or more frequently in very hot or dry climates.
- Wipe spills straight away with a damp cloth.
- For busy family spaces, a fibre-protection treatment adds a layer of defence against spills; renew it yearly.
Fabric
- Keep upholstery out of direct sunlight to slow fading.
- Spot-clean spills with a standard upholstery cleaner.
- Fibre protection (scotchguarding) is recommended for high-traffic areas.
- Plump loose-fill cushions regularly so the filling stays even. If a cushion won't recover, contact one of our stores.
Oak
- Solid oak shows knots, fine cracks and colour variation. That's the nature of real wood.
- Feed it with a good furniture oil.
- Avoid spray polishes and harsh household cleaners.
